Three Year Wedding Anniversary.
August seems so very long ago now as I listen to the rain bouncing off the railing of our balcony. The temperature outside is a far cry from the balmy 20s of the summer when we were so warm in the car we pulled over for a walk in the Cathedral Grove and cooled our feet in Cameron Lake.
The Flowers Family
Some people make insanely cute kids. These are those people.
Sunshine Coast Reset.
A well deserved break for my hubby from work and me from, well, from the regular rest and relaxation of a summer off. We drank, we ate, we saw, we adventured, we canoodled. It was an awesome few days away. This post is deserving of more but it will have to come later as I have some shopping to do to get ready for Megan and Dave's wedding tomorrow (HURRAY!!) and for an important function next week.
For now;
This was the view from every room in our cabin, the two decks, and the dock.
Meme the Model
Megan has officially moved to the west coast and I couldn't be happier! Its always nice when you have a childhood friend close by with shared experience. They tend to just 'get' you and know where you're coming from. Its also awesome that she is here because I now have someone who is willing to do photos with me (HURRAY!!). So as mentioned previously, here, Megan and Dave are getting married next month. Megan happened to have an extra wedding dress, not the one she is tying-the-knot in, and offered to model for me!
Theres a place I know in Ontario...
Capping off our trip to Hamilton area was a very wet and cold trip to Marine Land in Niagara Falls. It had been a dream of my sister and I to go there since we were very small. We used to sing the theme song and dream of being marine biologist and trainers; playing in our aunt and uncle's pool with our cousins taking turns being the trainer/whale respectively. As it turns out, I wasn't very good in science which I'm sure is essential in fulfilling the later part of that dream but I do have a credit card so the first part was most definitely doable.
A whirlwind trip to the Toronto Zoo
So, as mentioned in the previous post, the day we all flew into Toronto my sister had planned a half day trip to the Toronto Zoo straight from the airport. Well, almost. First there was a forty + minute wait for our shuttle that was located fifteen minutes away creating some slightly less than pleasant travelers but this was all forgotten after a 9:00 a.m. shwarma breakfast and a stop to buy Andrew some clothes/necessities (have I mentioned he's my traveling hero? true story). So a few set backs behind us we were off.
My Big Brother Got Married
and his wife is awesome.
A Christmas Visit
Today Steve's parents arrived back in Ontario safe and sound from their week long visit here in Vancouver. They came with the usual, appreciated and welcomed, treats of homemade dill/sweet pickles, stewed tomatoes, salsa, and pickled beats that fill our condiment cravings and tummies alike. But, the treats did not stop there! They also came with shortbread/chocolate chip/drop/Portuguese cookies, coconut/chocolate/date/toffee squares (toffee squares are my new favourite thing!), and Avo's sweet bread!
Seven Years.
I have been married to the most amazing man for the last two of those seven years. We met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend seven years ago and have been best friends ever since. People always seem to ask how long you have been with your partner and, up until a few days ago, we have given each other the same unsure look and blurted out a number haha. We tend to debate the actual number of blissful years we've spent together but the other day we sat down and finally agreed that it has been seven years. That is our story and we're sticking to it.
