I am an amateur, wannabe, photographer who is tied down by the necessities of life. If I could spend everyday looking for that one capture I would. Unfortunately life does not always support your passions and therefore I have a job to support my life.
I moved to North Vancouver BC about three years ago from a cold little city in 'northern' Ontario. I love love love living by the ocean and find myself amazed by all the little wonders that it brings; like mini crabs, sand dollars and all the other little critters I don't know the names for. Some of my other favourite things would be peppermint tea, camp fires, laughing until my sides hurt, my mother-in-laws pickles, and the smell right before it snows (not that I get that crispness very much anymore).
It wasn't until I moved to BC that i truly discovered my love for photography. I am fairly new to it and am not a pro by any means but I enjoy it. I hope to one day do this for a living but right now I do it solely because I love it. Currently my photographs are dictated by what is available at the time of inspiration. As I am new to this, I would not say that I currently prefer one type of photography over another but feel that I have an eclectic assortment. I'm slowly finding my way.
My inspiration for this site...
I started a group on Flickr called Project 365. The purpose of the group is to take a photograph every day for a whole year... sort of like a photo journal. I was inspired by this concept and really wanted to make the commitment to do it. I started it... lasted about a week.. and posted only two of the photos. I found that the demands of my life tended to get in the way of the creative process. I was taking pictures because I had to take one everyday. It was not enjoyable. So I thought back to what inspired me. It was the idea of a photo journal to mark that year in my life. So here I am. I am not promising a photo a day. I do promise a chronicle of this year, lots of randomness, and a bit of my adventure into photography.
So that is my passion in a nutshell. I hope you enjoy your visit to my site and feel free to contact me with any comments... I love feedback.
